Description   "Freedom" Sacral Chakra Mandala by Vikki Reed Between "Power" the third piece in the Chakra Mandala Series (begun September 2004) and "Freedom", the fourth piece, a great deal of time passed (for an impatient artist).  I was preparing for a show featuring my more traditional  desert botanicals, when suddenly, my schedule cleared unexpectedly and I saw a perfect opportunity to begin the next mandala. The creation of "Freedom" was a huge learning experience, bringing things to my awareness that had long been hidden.  Before it was completed some two weeks later, it had survived a fall and an unfortunate (but divinely guided) incident with a blue hi-liter. With its glowing orange, "Freedom" is nourishing for the sacral chakra.
